I am a registered accredited counsellor and have had a private practice working with individuals and couples since 2012. I hold sessions in person, by phone and online.
After studying psychology at York University, I moved to Spain where I trained and worked as a family therapist and couples counsellor in the late 1980s. On my return to the UK, I worked for Social Services with young people and their families for many years, in London and then in Bristol.
In 2008 I updated my relationship counselling training with Relate and worked for them as a registered practitioner until 2019. During that period, I did some further training with Relate in youth counselling and worked in a secondary school for 2 years. From 2009 to 2018 I also worked as an academic supervisor at the University of the West of England.
Having lived and worked in Spain for a decade, I am able to offer counselling in Spanish and have done so with several Spanish speaking clients in this country.
In addition to the qualifications listed below, I keep up to date with current developments in counselling and undertake regular Continuing Professional Development courses to expand my knowledge and skills.

Counselling is confidential: I will not disclose any information about a client to a third party. However, I may be legally obliged to break confidentiality if certain types of criminal behaviour were to be disclosed, and also in extreme circumstances if I believe a client or someone else to be at risk.
Client data is stored securely in accordance with the latest data protection legislation (GDPR). I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), reference no. A8385555.
My work is professionally supervised to ensure that I maintain the best standards of practice. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and adhere to their code of ethics. My membership no. is NCS13-00076.
