Work-related counselling

Work can form a huge part of our lives and our identity.  When we enjoy it, our work can be stimulating and rewarding.  However, when work is stressful, this can undermine our confidence and lead to anxiety and difficulty in doing our job to the best of our ability.  Ideally work should be something we look forward to and find fulfilling, but when things go wrong, we can come to dread it.

I have many years’ experience supporting people with work-related issues.  It can be of great help to discuss things in confidence with someone who is impartial and external to your organisation.  It offers you the chance to reflect on your role, acknowledge strengths and successes, and explore challenges and solutions.

Difficult situations with colleagues or management can be resolved without them becoming entrenched or escalating into performance-related issues.  It is also an opportunity to develop renewed enthusiasm and focus.

The issues I have supported people with include:

  • Work-related stress and burn-out
  • Difficult relations with colleagues
  • Conflict resolution
  • Communication
  • Time and workload management
  • Anxiety
  • Work-life balance
  • Creativity and fulfilment
  • Managing ill-health

Thank you so much for helping me face up to my current issues and seek ways to address them. My manager is being sympathetic, which is a relief.

Jen has been instrumental in helping me in times when I was struggling both personally and professionally. She has provided a space where I might take issues and work with them so that I could make a positive and constructive contribution to my work environment.

I recommended you to a colleague and told her how very supportive and helpful you have been to me.
